"We will follow this story as it simmers..." - Stephen Colbert

Comedy Central's 'The Colbert Report' is doing its part to keep canned soups in the news. In an ongoing bit on canned soups, host Stephen Colbert hilariously covers the "mudslinging slimefest between Campbell's Soup and Progresso." See it for yourself and remember, if you cannot make it to Get Canned, please help us to promote the event by forwarding this blog to friends and colleagues in the NYC area who may be able to join us. Thanks!

Get Canned and Go Green!

According to the Beer Activist, "Canned beer has some noteworthy environmental attributes. More than 50% of the aluminum used in cans is recycled content. And recycling aluminum is vastly more efficient than recycling glass. Plus, aluminum is much lighter and more compact than glass bottles which means it takes less energy to transport it...So, go on, get your can on!"

By supporting Get Canned and enjoying canned beverages from our generous sponsor, you're contributing that little extra something!

Now Serving: Sofia Mini Sparkling Blanc de Blancs

SOFIA MINI is simply a revolution in enjoying the elegance of sparkling wine. Instead of a bottle, SOFIA MINI comes in a recyclable petite pink can--holding 187 ml, or one forth of a bottle. This portable pleasure chills quickly and there is no worry over breakage or special glassware needed. Made from a blend of Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat Canelli, SOFIA MINI dances on the palate with expressive pear, apple, citrus, and honey notes. Aromatically unique and delicately effervescent, this wine is cool and refreshing.

SOFIA MINI is a perfect compliment to Get Canned and we are excited to serve it to you. For more information, please check out  www.sofiamini.com

AKA Cool

We are excited to announce that Get Canned will be raffling off two pairs of AKA Culture's Valenki boots at the event. For more information on Valenki, please visit www.akaculture.com

Considered by many to be the 'next Uggs,' Valenki snow boots have been part of Russian soldiers' uniforms for the over 300 years. Made of 100% organic wool, not only do the Valenki withstand sub-zero temperatures, but they also promote blood circulation in the feet.

These trendy, yet practical woolen boots are the first product in AKA Culture's fall/winter fashion line. While the removable rubber overshoes protect Valenki from the elements and the warm lining forms to the feet, the wide variety of available colors distinguishes AKA Valenki as a leader in this season's footwear category.
